DASARA............ That was the first Sunday leave for us in Pune, 21st October 07. We planned to start early to rove outside to crossword, E Square movie, etc., Have to start at 6.00am, said kumbhar. Sure da, I replied @ 02:30am, 21st October.


@7.10 : a call from chennai, woke me up. That was a thanks giving call for my gift. After the call got cut, I was shocked to see the time. Its 7.12am.


Saw a Missed call from kumbhar. Called him back, said come home @ 8am we'll start. Am already out, come to Deccan gymkhana, he added. Within one hour I will be there, was my answer.


I wanted to wash my clothes, take bath and leave. This has to happen in 0.5 hr since it takes minimum 0.5 hr to reach deccan from chinchwad. Dipped my clothes for washing, took a clean shave. Presuming the clothes would have got mixed up well, washed and dried it.

25 min over and should be there in 35 min. Took a short super fast bath in 15 min.

@8.25am: in chinchwad bus stand. Managed to get a bus in 10 min and a seat too inside the bus. Reached deccan @ 9.05am. We went to crossword, got some books and cds. Spent till 11.30 am in C/w and left for having lunch. I was ravenous for food since I didn't have my b/fast. Went to a restaurant nearby.

We were discussing about the next plan, will go home and sleep, will click a movie in the evening, I said. OK! was the reply.

While we were taking our food, kumbhar asked, you know 'puran poli'? I said No!, thinking that it's a name of a person. He said, What! you're an Indian, not knowing 'puran poli'? I got raged and asked him, do you know 'Mahakavi Bharthiyaar'?. Ya! He said. I had that only last week, we prepared in my room. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dey! Ennda soliputa neeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyy.

I guffawed for a while, which made others to see us and he portended. Then I realized 'puran poli' is a dish.

I didn't know that puran poli is a dish and the worst part is that he didn't know that 'Mahakavi Bharthiyaar' was one of the greatest Tamil poets, a prolific writer, philosopher and a great visionary of immense genius...........

I thought Puran poli is a name of a great leader since he used 'what you're an indian.........? But what made him to even think that Mahakavi is a dish......... I am dread that I may be sued to write this!

Cooking in room.....

Living as a Bachelor is on either way, sometimes you feel home sick but most of the time its other way, enjoying to the fullest, as far as am concerned.

Cooking in room....... its not that everyday we'll go out for dining. Some days we feel dozy going out. To have a good food, I need to go by auto, of course, a share auto.
Its not only hygienic to take a food cooked at home, but also the way we prepare, the humour we mix, ulti!
It happened one day that I wanted to take food from outside as our cook (every bachelor's room will have one good cook, ok lets call him 'chef' atleast now) was late from office. I was half minded that time, should I take a auto, go there, have food, come back in auto. Another mate said, Gi!, lets try today and if it clicks we will make w/o chef.
We started with rice, that too qty of rice and water was advised by our chef. We kept 4 eggs on the tray above rice. Next we wanted to make sambar actually, we poured some oil into the elec pot........... call from home...........
another mate tried, with a plastic spoon to fry onion, watching the TV w/o knowing abt the temp in elec pot.......... spoon melted..... I came back
We were worrying for the spoon but the onion was over fried by that time. We had put all the tomatoes that we had, some chilli and why to leave its powder, before unloading the pot, luckily our chef checked the taste, no salt. Thank god! added some salt.
Dinner is ready. We named it as tomato rice, deciding to make sambar the next day.

Jog.......1725 not meters, days

After almost 5 years I started back jogging on 5th Oct. Main reason I started back is because of Pune and that too in Pune-Mumbai road, its cool and fresh.

Earlier in 2002, I was in Anna nagar for a three weeks, staying in my colleague's resi, who's regular in this. Initially, though I didn't have much interest, that too in early morning @6, I accompanied him for a week and after I was also regular with him. Even after I left Anna nagar, I continued it for 6-7 months and dropped as I got other priorities. But from the day I left till 5th, almost everyday I wanted to jog. Only after 1725 days, I got & strecthed myself to come out of my room to jog early morning.

If am able to continue this is for a month, am sure I will jog everyday henceforth. Lets hope for the best.......

blog after a long time.......... ain't too busy, couldn't able find time, but surely have time to sleep, roam, go for a movie, etc.,

Went to native last week for my grand father's funeral. 94 years, he had a quite peaceful life. Last words to me from him, when I was there for my brother's marriage "Chella, unn kalyanathiru naan irrukka maaten" ("I wouldn't be able to make it for you"). After these words, I really felt dejected. But its fate that there's an end to everyone.

On 22nd Sep morning @ 8.15am, he was no more, making me unlucky. But his blessings from inner heart would be there for me everytime.

iPod

iPod! I wanted to buy this long back. But clicked only this evening. Though I had a long wait, could able to click a 30GB with cool offer.

08/07 - I wanted to use CC for purchasing this. After deciding to go for this, I had given my CC to the counter. They replied that, there's Authorisation needed. I was totally confused. I didn't purchase anything of more cost. I have a Credit limit of 46.8K. They, at counter, tried twice but same appeared in the screen.

I gave a call to CC 24 Customer centre. They said that you had purchased a product for a 33K. Ya! I said I had purchased a laptop which is 6 months EMI and the monthly installment is just 5.8K, how can you say my avl limit is less. Then CC exe. explained only after first month the system recognises that its EMI and your limit has gone down. Then I enquired whether I can increase my limit, Ya! off course you can, let me check whether I can do it online. After a while he said sorry you have to submit your latest payslip since I had shifted my company. Ok I will fax, I said. It will take 8 w/days to change the limit by atleast 50K. I dropped the plan of buying iPod, since I can't put the whole amount in single go. Let me wait!

09/07 - During lunch I was discussing the same with Gupta, a friend of mine in plant. Ok! Cool man I will use my CC. Lets go to-evening. I said ok, because I wanted to pick it before others do with a better offer.

09/07 18:00 hrs - iPod into my pocket. Really music. Wanted to browse a lot and store n listen music, music, music. Have option of movie too. Will have to download. Now I got one more to keep aside my bed with my cute N72.

a trip to lonavla

Thursday! has been renamed as 'my weekend'. I say it so sad since we have got only 24 hrs. From our childhood we have a saying 'enjoy with what you've and you're given with'. So we start it with enjoyment on Wednes night as I do on Satur when am in Chennai.

This 4th Jul, it was just a party-eve. We all went to Mc Donalds had snacks and here the movie timings are just cool, went to Die hard 4.0 which started at 2005 hrs. What should I use to explain about the movie rather a damn good thriller. I have heard in some earlier comments in movie countdowns 'Movie which takes you to edge of the seat', now I really enjoyed it very sec of the movie. After movie, we went to a restaraunt. I could able to sleep only at 2145 hrs. I had to get up early to have a roam in lonavla, a beautiful place like Ooty.

We started at 0710hrs from Chinchwad. We didn't take any short cut and my colleague took us in long route. We went to couple ot temples (sorry I couldn't remember those names). Reached the spot by 1300 hrs, had lunch. We bought 'chikkis' which is very special in that place and we had some there.

We visited Bhushidam, if ain't wrong in spelling it. What a crowd! that too in Thursday. My friend warned 'Don't have any plans to come here on Satur & Sunday.
Cool girls! I thought they smoke because it's cold there and on the other hand, they had beer bottle which gave me a conclusion that Cold isn't the reason. Really enjoying their life!

Went to Tiger point, where nothing is visible except clouds sometimes dark. Had some snaps as did all the way. After all the snaps, I had a small nap and we are back to our City. Really memorable Thursday.

Getting a flat in Pune

Since I have relocated from Chennai, TML have provided me a flat in TELCO Colony for 10 days. I didn't use this facility for first 5 days, staying relax in my friend's room in city, thinking that I can get a flat in a day (or) two.

But it was a ........... (sorry i shouldn't use) getting a flat in Pune. First thing is that they use BHK term i.e., Bedroom Hall and Kitchen. Rent - 1 BHK is 4500-5500 and 2 BHK is 7000-10000. Also, brokerage is 1-2 months. Though company reimburses us the brokerage, it's too much to even hear this. W/o broker, you will not get any flat. Slowly, I had to take this, way of living in Pune. First saw one house, quite opposite, to Plant gate, calm area. Everything was done, Rent was 3000, Deposit 12000 brokerage 1 month w/o any paper work and 2 months for all the paper work and finally landlord said that he's willing to give the flat to maharastrian.

Next, Cool place same 3000, 20000 deposit, brokerage 1 month. Everything done, flat will be for family, said owner of the flat.

Here in Pune, dealing is with broker and finally we reach owner.

Today I had seen one flat for 5500 which will be amost finalised, deposit 20000 and brokerage 1 month. Should be fine with my future room mates too.

So if you're getting relocated to Pune, Plan and it's not that easy to get a flat in Pune as we do in Chennai.

First day in TML

Though I had 8 years of experience in Ashok Leyland, which was in Service, I was bit nervous on my first day (2 days after joining).

I was assigned to Engines group. I went to my boss (not Bachelor of Social Service, the real time boss). Where you wanted to work, Design or Development? Straightaway, the question was thrown to me.

My reply started, Actually......... Boss intervened, Ok, Design is where you will have to Analyse, do Pro-E, work on Catia, etc., and Development is like testing Engines for their performance, interfacing with vehicles, take test drive (Sillunu Oru Kadhal Surya was into my mind), etc.,

...............since I said actually before, I continued with, my profile matches with Development. the Big boss said(Boss's boss), Ok you be there for one week in our group and by that time you will finish all you joining formalities, settling in a flat, etc.,

I said ok, Now its over. I will be assigned to a Project in Passenger cars from tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I had an interaction with my boss (who was there in my Interview panel). Though you're from Service background, the onething impressed much was your performance in Graduation. Working from 9 to 5.30 and after reaching college, doing your studies and getting rewarded is something awesome. So you have the habit of reading books , knowing things and putting into action. (All these words were spelt out by my boss, nothing addition)
Please continue your worming into books and learn, learn and learn everytime. I said to myself, Ramesh it's now up to you to start a grand show in TML.

The Boss

I damn crazy about the movie Sivaji. I had enquired about the release of the movie during April 07 itself and had continuous interaction with Satyam for 1st date ticket.

Unfortunately I have been relocated to Pune on 11th June and the release of Sivaji was 15th. I thought I can make this as first movie watch in Pune. But the movie was scheduled to release on 22nd.

On 17th, we went to Gold ADLABS for 'F4' and the first movie record went to this.

Enquired all the theatres in Pune about the release of Sivaji. They said the booking starts from 20th Wednesday for Friday.

In E Square, they said that there will be a Premiere show on Thursday. I kept the record of watching it on the first day first show.

In Mumbai, the first

I came to know about this blog site thro' one of my in-laws, who inspired me in blogging.

Now straight to routines.....

I got the offer from TATA MOTORS Ltd -Engineering Research Centre, Pune and I had planned to reach Pune via Mumbai. That day I was bit tense since am leaving chennai. My parents and my brother had come to Airport to say bye. I saw tears in my parents' eyes and in my brother's too. I didn't feel that even I knew am leaving Chennai and my friends. But the last moment went deep in my heart and beeping inside aloud.
Checked in and was waiting to board. Made calls to all my friends and my voice went low after each call.

Arrived Mumbai remembering my friends' words 'Be careful with those Taxi walas waiting outside'. I had to go to CST Station to catch a train to Pune. I had enquired Pre paid taxi, they said 2 zeros after 7. Thank god! Saying to myself 'Now be careful in getting a taxi, outside'.
Came out, one taxi driver came to me and enquired I said only CST. He understood that I didn't know Hindi. He said 5 instead of 7. I said only 3, he replied in Hindi that CST is almost 45 kms (i knew it's only 20-22 kms), I walked off and he called back. Luggages were into their compartment at rear. He said pay now, I took 3 of 100 notes and gave him. Suddenly, he dropped off one note, said only 2 are there. I re-ensured with my wallet and 3 notes are off. I asked him to look down, you would have dropped. Then he realised that he can't cheat me anymore. Then took me to next cab, travel in this to CST. I agreed.

I was afraid that this new fellow would ask me again. I reconfirmed with him that I wouldn't pay anymore. He said OK. Then we started moving towards to CST, Mumbai.

This driver was good, started 'Mumbai is full of cheating' (spoke English little a bit), you would have paid 500, he added. No sir, I paid......... I made a full stop, should I say the truth, if i say 3 then only 3, good give me one more............ I said 4. Then he replied he has cheated you 150. It's actually 250. I was happy that I paid only 50 more. He said the names of all the places, I have son of your age, etc., I told him about my relocation. We reached CST. He said all the best, bye. Time : 14:00hrs

Then I was waiting for the train to Pune which would depart at 15:10. Had lunch, played Snakes and train arrived.

That was a 4 hrs journey. Got into the train, slept for a hour. Again into Snakes. Reached Pune and went to my friend's room in Sainikwadi.
